I don't think i have ever heard of little marbles tiles like that. I wonder if there are many of them around? It must be quite special. The hallway shot is suggestive. To bad there wasn't a creepy creep creeping creepily along it when you were there.

I've seen a floor like this before in an old building in New York, maybe from the 20s or 30s. This is down in Cleveland Park so I can believe it could be that age. I can't believe it was covered with that awful beige carpet all that while!

love the floor. It always amazes me how floors like this get covered up with crappy carpet. I can't tell you how many houses we looked at that covered beautiful hardoowd floors with nasty carpet.
