Three from Today, annotated

2009.07.22
My shiny new ridiculously comfortable $12 metallic vinyl Chinatown shoes.

Exuberant expression of Anglophilia in sidewalk chalk.

A herd of picnic tables gathering at the waterhole at dusk

Today at lunch I got myself a kiddie size pistachio gelato and took it to Elm Street Park in Bethesda to eat while writing a discussion topic response on sustainable development for this class I'm taking. I didn't have my camera with me at the time, so I noted these odd things and snapped them on my way out of the office at 4:30 p.m.

I was wearing my new lurid Chinese vinyl shoes.

MelanieO I need a new pair of metallic silver shoes.
MelanieO · 2009-07-23: 05:04
Liiisa Everyone should have shiny metal shoes! I just regret that it took me this long to figure that out.
Liiisa · 2009-07-23: 06:53
megaera Yay for anglophiles. Wonder if whoever drew that has ever been here?
megaera · 2009-07-23: 07:29
Liiisa lol megs... they probably have, and just got back. I always have a huge country-crush when I've first gotten back from somewhere.

siister I was the one who did the ballet - and it looks more like 3rd position. I'm still in shock over your new direction in footwear - we've absolutely switched places. I've found my black keens and LOVE THEM.
siister · 2009-07-23: 13:15
snkysally It's sorta between third and fifth positions. You'd have to work on your turnout if Miss Asher, my very British ballet teacher, saw those feet. Love the glowing shoes though.
snkysally · 2009-07-23: 13:40
Stav1 I used to have silver flats like that - sans bows, though:-)
Stav1 · 2009-07-23: 14:35
websterella They're purty.
websterella · 2009-07-23: 14:43
KateR I wonder what the collective noun for a group of picnic tables is? A feast of tables?
KateR · 2009-07-23: 18:22
msdanarae I have those shoes in gold. They thin soles have be almost worn completely through- best $12 I ever spent on shoes.
msdanarae · 2009-07-24: 08:27
whortleberry Cute shoes! I wonder if I can find any of them here, in their country of origin?
whortleberry · 2009-07-24: 09:32
Liiisa I'm sure you can somewhere, whortle! The brand is called "Easy," which is amusing.
Liiisa · 2009-07-24: 12:24
portreeslim Yes, I noticed the round heels.
portreeslim · 2009-07-25: 13:43
Liiisa snort! It wasn't me that did that sidewalk chalk, though, in case you're tempted to suggest that this means I've been doing an entire country.
Liiisa · 2009-07-25: 14:03
Gallivant Great picnic tables!
